Wash the red dates and longan. In a pot, combine red dates, longan, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer.
Add rock sugar to the simmering soup and continue to simmer until the sugar is dissolved and the flavors are well infused.
In a separate bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and sugar. Gradually add warm water to the flour mixture, kneading until a smooth, pliable dough forms.
Take small portions of the dough and roll them into small balls, about 1-1.5 cm in diameter.
Bring a separate pot of water to a boil. Add the glutinous rice balls to the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface and are slightly swollen.
Carefully transfer the cooked glutinous rice balls into the simmering red date and longan sweet soup. Simmer for another 1-2 minutes. Serve warm.
