  • 1 tsp Toasted white sesame seeds
  • 0.5 tsp Soy sauce

  • 400 g Cooked Japanese white rice
  • 2 pieces Umeboshi (pickled plums)
  • 0.5 sheet Nori (seaweed)
  • 0.5 tsp Mirin

Instructions

    Pit the umeboshi. Finely chop or mash the umeboshi flesh into a paste.

    In a bowl, combine the freshly cooked Japanese white rice with the umeboshi paste.

    If desired, add soy sauce and mirin to the rice mixture and mix well.

    Serve the umeboshi rice in bowls. Garnish with shredded nori and toasted sesame seeds.
